About Me

How I build

I come from a magazine design background and still think like a designer when I write applications. I've worked with Rails since 2009. I taught Ruby on Rails across 4 continents with Le Wagon, and I've mentored juniors a lot along the way. I favor omakase Rails: ViewComponents, Hotwire, clear models, and code that is easy to follow and change. Product-minded. I aim for real-world value built with an artisan's pride.

Father of a 4 year old daughter, who made it very clear that I had to write this here.

Dev DNA

I first put Dev DNA together to help people find a path after the bootcamp. Looking back, it's also a map of how I grew as a developer: books, talks, and practice habits I followed. I still share it with students and coworkers.
